Congratulations Dr. Joseph Masison!

Joseph Masison successfully defended his thesis entitled "Computational Modeling of Duodenal Iron Metabolism".

Posted on: April 14, 2023

Joseph Masison, in our Systems Biology Area of Concentration in the Biomedical Sciences PhD Program, carried out his thesis work in our group. In the last three years he had built computational models of iron absorption, starting from the molecular (ferritin), cellular (enterocytes), and tissue (crypt-villus) scales. His defense took place on April 14 when he gave a very clear presentation summarizing his research. Well done Joe!

Joe is now going to spend the next two years completing his medical studies after which he will be awarded the degree of MD-PhD. In the meantime we will also have to publish another two papers reporting his research results.
