Congratulations Dr. Simon Mitchell!

Simon Mitchell successfully defended his thesis entitled "A Computational model of human iron metabolism".

Posted on: Dec 29, 2013

Simon Mitchell, from our Doctoral Training Programme in Integrative Systems Biology, carried out his thesis work in our group. Within three years he had built a model of the regulation of mammalian iron metabolism, covering the intestine, liver and plasma. His viva voce (thesis defense) took place on November 21 by Douglas Kell and Joanna Collingwood (external examiner). Simon did a great job defending his research and came out with a PhD - well done Simon!

There was some antecipated speculation on the color of Simon's hair on that day, but witnesses confirm that it was neither green nor blue!
